I used to live in a 20,000 square foot home in Beverly Park. Now I live in a two bedroom condo. What I’ve learned over the years, is that the more successful you are, and the more you show off your wealth, the more people will hate you. So yes, you can step into your Rolls Royce, imagining how all the onlookers are admiring you for your wealth and the intelligence it took to gain that wealth. But no, more likely, they’re envious and suspecting that you just misled folks, as many wealthy people have done. I’ve found that showing off wealth is counter-productive. Giving to people, particularly people you care about, will bring you joy, make you happy, and make them happy. Do it.
My home at 72 Beverly Park, Los Angeles, CA 90210, before the addition in 2007.
